VALLEY OF ROSES AND CASBAHS

 

 

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Flight to Marrakech: Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by a qualified guide and driver.

Transfer to Hotel: You’ll be transferred to your hotel in Marrakech for the night, where you can rest and prepare for the journey ahead.

Day 2: Marrakech to Ait Youl via Tichka Pass

Early Morning Departure: Depart from Marrakech by mini-bus or taxi, traveling through the Tichka Pass at 2260 meters, the highest road pass in Morocco. The pass offers grandiose landscapes of the snowy Atlas Mountains.

Descent to Ouarzazate: After crossing the pass, you’ll descend the southern slope to Ouarzazate, where you’ll take a lunch break.

Valley of Dades: Enter the beautiful and broad Valley of Dades, known for its green fields, abundant water, kasbahs, and palm groves.

Night at Ait Youl: Spend the night at a cottage in Ait Youl after a 7-hour transfer.

Day 3:Ait Youl – Tizguine

 

Start of the Trek: Begin your day of walking through the fields, tackling the dry, arid high plateau. Ensure you have enough water for this part of the trek.

Picnic Lunch: Enjoy a picnic along the way while the mules follow you to the village of Tizguine.

Oumzighimt Valley: Discover the well-irrigated Oumzighimt Valley, known for its authentic architecture and friendly locals.

Bivouac Near Ighrem: Spend the night in a bivouac near the village of Ighrem at 1700 meters.

Day 4: Tizguine – Alemdoun

 

Valley Ascent: Ascend the valley through the village of Issoumar, crossing the river multiple times. Bring tennis shoes or plastic sandals for the river crossings.

Scenic Trail: The trail is lined with holm oaks and red juniper trees, with the land displaying shades of red and ocher.

Alemdoun Plateau: End the day by reaching the plateau of Alemdoun at 1750 meters, then descend to the village for the night.

Day 5: Almdoun -Boutaghar

 

M’Goun Chain: Trek at the foot of the famous M’Goun chain, following the path through the beautiful Assif Qati Valley, known for its oleander plants.

Gorges and River Crossings: Pass through gorges and cross the fresh water of the river. The valley gradually widens as you approach the villages of Agouti Fougani, Agouti Tahtani, El Het, and Aznag.

Valley of Roses: Enjoy a picnic in the Valley of Roses, known for its stunning gardens, fruit tree fields, and beautiful adobe houses.

Evening Camp: After approximately 5 hours of walking, reach the evening camp at the village of Boutaghar at 1600 meters.

Day 6:Boutghrar – Tabrkhacht

Explore the Valley of Roses

 

Heart of the Valley: Spend the day exploring the heart of the wonderful Valley of Roses, approaching the kasbahs and crossing the wide riverbed.

Conclusion: This day offers a relaxed exploration of the valley’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.

 

Day 7: Transfer to Marrakech 

early morning we find the vehicles. Track up to Kelaa

MGouna. Way back by Ouarzazate. Once past the pass

Tichka, lunch at Taddert. We return to Marrakech at the end of

midday. 7 hours drive. Night at the hotel.

Day 8: Transfer to the airport and and back home.
